Up to 120 people a day to work on latest apartment project for beachside centre

Construction of a project that is seen as key to the revitalisation of a popular beachside area has officially commenced.

The start of work on BIANCO Caloundra, by local builder and developer RCQ, was marked with the traditional ‘turning of the sod’ on Monday.

The $70 million project is expected to be finished by March 2025.

RCQ expects about 1000 people will be involved in construction, with about 100-120 people on site per day at its peak.

The project is the only new development approval granted on the Pumicestone Passage side of Bulcock Street in recent years.

The 27-residence development, on the corner of Bulcock Street and Tay Avenue, is spread across eight levels, with high-end retail, service and hospitality businesses earmarked for the ground floor.

Construction is scheduled to be complete by March 2025.

“Purchaser interest is strong,” RCQ director Ric Peterson said.

“Eight apartments, one third of available stock, has already been secured and interest is sure to galvanise with construction commencement.”

The RCQ team overseeing construction of BIANCO, led by project manager Mitch Evans, is fresh from the completion of the luxury apartment complex One The Esplanade in Cotton Tree.

Privately owned, award-winning builder RCQ is also the name behind such projects as Reflection Cove (the fourth stage of the Emporio masterplan in Maroochydore) and Plaza Central (a residential development next to Sunshine Plaza in Maroochydore).

The apartments will boast views across the Pumicestone Passage.

RCQ sales executive Sharna Grand-Court said the project would help with the revitalisation of Caloundra, especially around Bulcock Street.

“BIANCO is going to be a game-changing development for the Caloundra CBD,” she said.

“RCQ and all involved are very excited to be at the forefront of this exciting change coming to Caloundra.

“The Caloundra Chamber of Commerce are excited to see us progress, as are many local residents and business who have advised that they are looking forward to seeing the development come to life and that they appreciate us investing in Caloundra.”

BIANCO is being marketed by Belle Property principal and owner John Stamp. Apartments start from $1,075,000.
