Queensland property developer Ross Nielson lists secluded Currumbin treehouse home

BRISBANE property developer Ross Nielson, of Nielson Properties, has listed his spectacular oceanview treehouse at Currumbin with a $4.295 million price tag.

The secluded three-storey home at 15 James St was due to go under the hammer on March 30, but marketing agent Troy Dowker, of Kollosche, said the only bidder couldn’t proceed.

Mr Dowker released the sale price for the four-bedroom, two-bathroom home, and said a number of conditional offers had been made during the campaign.

Mr Nielson’s recent Qld mega-developments included the 205 North Quay office tower in Brisbane’s CBD, which was a $660m joint venture with construction super fund, Cbus Property, who bought out the project in 2022.

On the Gold Coast, he launched a $450m luxury beachside hotel in Burleigh Heads in 2019 with Pointcorp director, Chris Vitale.

The Vitale Property Group is building the twin-tower Mondrian project, the Glitter Strip’s first five-star hotel south of Broadbeach comprising 208 hotel rooms as well as 84 residential units.

Property records show Mr Nielson splashed $3.8m on the elevated beach house on a 624sqm lot in July 2022, furnishing it with classic pieces sourced from world travels.

Timber stairs wind all the way up from the beach to the home’s lower-level deck, through tropical gardens to a private home with panoramic views of the coastline over the treetops.

Living and dining spaces are split over three levels, while the upstairs master bedroom has a private balcony, ensuite and walk-in robe.

On the lower level are two bedrooms, a media room, and games lounge with a wet bar and island bench servicing the poolside deck.

A formal living and dining room is on the second floor, with the fourth bedroom on the top level.
