Exclusive: Morris get green light for Bondi Burleigh apartment tower

Veteran developer Morris Property Group has been given the nod by the Gold Coast City Council for its latest project, Bondi Burleigh.

It took about 12 months for Morris, who have developed across Canberra and the Gold Coast for a number of decades, to secure approval for the 25-level project at 1873-1875 Gold Coast Highway, having submitted plans for the striking tower which will home 174 apartments in April 2022.

Canberra-based architecture firm Guida Mosely Brown worked in collaboration with locals Plus Architecture on the designs, which Morris says “blends art, aesthetics, and functionality to create an exceptional structure that enhances the Burleigh skyline with its distinct and innovative character.”

The two and three-bedroom apartments will be launched to the market next month. Residents will have access to an entire level of amenities on level two, including a north-facing swimming pool and a state of the art wellness spaces created by Wellness Solutions.

The project’s name, Bondi Burleigh, is a nod to the growth and prominence that the Burleigh area has achieved as evolving into one of Australia’s leading areas for investment and living.

Morris know the area well and what the market demands. Bondi Burleigh be their fifth project in Burleigh Heads. It also sits right next to another of Morris Property Group’s successful Burleigh projects, Boardwalk Burleigh.

“Our team is thrilled to introduce this project to the Burleigh Heads property market, and we’re confident that it will exceed the expectations of our discerning consumers,” Morris Property Group Director Barry Morris says.

“At the heart of every project we undertake, is a deep understanding of what our buyers want, and we make sure to prioritise their needs in every aspect of our design. As passionate members of the Gold Coast community, we are excited to bring this unique project to life, and contribute to the vibrant and dynamic property market in this beloved area.”

Morris is able to push on despite the construction woes that are plaguing the development space in South East Queensland, given they also build their projects. Nearby their Sandbar Burleigh project, which is almost sold out, has recently topped out.

“Our ‘promise to build’ approach is the cornerstone of our success as a company,” MPG Director James Morris says.

“While the construction industry is currently facing unprecedented challenges, including soaring prices and market instability, we are committed to working through any challenge and delivering on our promises to our buyers and the wider community. As responsible builders, we understand our obligation to ensure that our buildings are completed to the highest standards, no matter the market conditions.”

Bondi Burleigh marks Morris’ 20th project on the Gold Coast. Late last month they also got sign off for their two-tower development at 9-15 Armrick Avenue, which will bring a further, much needed, 339 apartments to the hot Broadbeach market.

Currently they’re selling Essentia in Surfers Paradise, which is expected to be completed by June.
