Eiko Group is moving to the next phase of its large-scale development on the Gold Coast, lodging plans for 157 apartments in Coomera.
The apartments would be built across four eight-storey buildings in the Urbana development at 215-233 Foxwell Road, Coomera through the entity Cadmium Development.
This adds to existing approvals for the project, including 178 apartments across four six-storey buildings and 81 attached homes on the 78,240sq m site.
The Precinct 3 plans designed by Archidiom are for the remaining 15,210sq m at the southern end of the site, including swimming pools between the two pairs of buildings, by Form Landscape Architects.
The latest plans have similar floorplates to the originally approved masterplans but add two or three storeys to each building.
Despite the additional storeys, the total number of apartments would not change, providing 85 two-bedroom and 72 three-bedroom apartments.
“The proposed built form is generally consistent with the approved floor plan layout for Precinct 3 of Urbana, being the subject precinct,” the application said.
“The only change is to increase the height for each building to reflect the emerging built form outcomes intended by the City Plan, allowing for a varied distribution of the approved residential yield.
“Residential density is unchanged and will therefore be maintained as approved.”
Nearby Keylin and Kinstone acquired 47.7ha on Foxwell Road in January 2021 just south of Coomera’s emerging town centre.
Since then the Gold Coast’s median house price has quickly neared the $1-million mark as houses increased 35.1 per cent while units went up in value by 26 per cent to a median of $582,521.
