BriStar Group, a property development company, has lodged a development application with the Brisbane City Council for a residential aged care home and childcare centre in Stafford, 6km northwest of the CBD.
The DA outlined plans for a three storey and 100-bed aged care home and a two-storey child care centre that can cater to 100 children on the corner of Stafford Road and Trouts Road.
The aged care home would provide a mix of low care, high care and end of life care to allow for residents to age in place as their care needs change.
Meanwhile, the childcare centre would be constructed in a way that would “minimise any potential noise and traffic impacts on the surrounding area”.
ThomsonAdsett has been commissioned to design the aged care home while ANA Architects have been given the job of designing the childcare centre.
The land is currently comprised of two allotments and it’s proposed to rearrange the boundaries of the lots so that both developments can be located on separate allotments.
With an existing portfolio of luxury homes and townhouses, the project would be BriStar’s first aged care home.
