Swimming golden couple Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon buy a sprawling $1.8million love nest on the Gold Coast

Singer-turned-swimmer Cody Simpson and his Olympian girlfriend Emma McKeon have celebrated their one-year anniversary by buying their first home together.

The couple have splashed out $1.826million on a family-sized love nest on the Gold Coast, proving their headline-making romance that flourished during training for the 2022 Commonwealth Games has become rather serious.

Located in the coastal suburb of Labrador, the five-bedroom property boasts luxurious finishes and chic interiors worthy of Australia’s swimming golden couple.

It spans two levels and features three bathrooms, a large walk-in wardrobe, state-of-the-art appliances, and a grand entrance featuring high ceilings and a floating staircase.

Perhaps the most important detail is the large outdoor pool in the backyard, which Cody and Emma will no doubt use regularly.

The home also boasts a covered al fresco entertainment area, an open plan kitchen and living area, and a grassy yard perfect for children and pets to run around.

It is also located a stone’s throw away from the popular Broadwater Parklands.

An online listing for the property describes the home as an ‘architecturally designed residence exuding laid-back, modern luxury’.

Cody and Emma went ‘Instagram official’ with their relationship in July last year, three months after they began dating in secret.

Days after going public, the pair found themselves embroiled in a reported ‘love triangle’ with Emma’s ex-boyfriend and fellow Team Australia member Kyle Chalmers.

At the time it was claimed Kyle had blocked Cody’s entry into the ranks of the Australian Dolphins for the World Championships in Hungary after learning of their relationship.

Kyle had originally made the decision to not travel to Hungary for the competition, but back-flipped after his ex’s relationship with Cody became public.

However, he vehemently denied any suggestion this move was due to a personal vendetta against the former pop star.

Cody later got a ‘one up’ on Kyle when he was named on the ten-man shortlist for the GQ Sportsman of the Year award, while Kyle missed out.

The musician and swimmer is hoping to turn his Olympic dream into a reality in Paris in 2024.
