Cbus Property’s 443 Queen Street, Brisbane project rated Australia’s first 6 Star Green Star residential building

Cbus Property’s 443 Queen Street project in Brisbane has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star design rating by the Green Building Council of Australia.

443 Queen Street is the first residential building in Australia to be recognised with this rating.

The development received the 6 star Green Star rating, based on outcomes across nine impact categories, including management, indoor environment quality, energy, transport, water, materials, land use and ecology, emissions and innovation.

Cbus Property CEO Adrian Pozzo said the achievement was a testament to the company’s commitment to build and manage a sustainable $5 billion residential and commercial portfolio.

Davina Rooney, GBCA’s chief executive, said the project showed world-leading innovation and sustainability.

“The air-quality features and use of sustainable design are particularly impressive and will help to set a new standard for Australian developments”, she said.

Cbus has developed a series of key targets and milestones for our sustainability strategy, one of which is to become net zero carbon by 2030.

The Queen St rating is demonstrative of the company’s support to this goal and the World Green Building Council’s net zero carbon buildings commitment.

Last year, Urban named two Cbus projects among Melbourne’s newest environmentally conscious developments.

In August last year, the first five floors of the Brisbane project had been completed.
