Pimped out $2.5m manor to be given away

A brand new $2.5m manor with pimped out potting shed and John Deere ride-on mower will have a new owner next week as part of a giveaway to support people living with disabilities.

The stunning four bedroom, three bathroom, double garage home was built during the Covid-19 pandemic on a 4,529sq m block of land the Endeavour Foundation bought for $750,000 in Maleny on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

PropTrack estimates the median house price in Maleny at $906,268 during the year to May, making this new build one of the most up-market in the area.

The Sunshine Coast saw some of the biggest surges in demand in the country during the pandemic, with its coastal cities and towns of Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Marcoola, Coolum, Sunshine Beach, Noosa Heads and Rainbow Beach inundated with interstate and out of region buyers.

Hinterland locations on the Sunshine Coast including Gympie, Eumundi, Yandina, Nambour, Mapleton, Montville and Maleny were among areas that saw prices skyrocket as buyers locked out of the coast searched properties close by.

Designed to look “timeless”, the Endeavour Foundation recreated the charm of a lush country estate overlooking rolling green hills at the home built at 34 Treehaven Way.

They put in custom-built French doors, a spacious open planned living zone, top of the range kitchen with a coveted Italian ILVE 120 gas oven, double door fridge, two dishwashers and two fireplaces.

In the entire second floor, the Foundation put in a dedicated master retreat with private library lounge, study, primary bedroom, full ensuite and dressing room.

Outside there is an alfresco dining area with built in BBQ and outdoor bar, stunning large swimming pool with arbour, a 6.64kW solar system and two 23,000 litre water tanks and irrigation.

According to the Endeavour Foundation the entire prize home package was valued at over $2.8m, with the home to be handed over fully furnished and the new owners to also be given $10,000 in cashable gold bullion.

The draw for the giveaway closes Thursday June 8, with a single ticket costing $10. The new owner will be announced in a week’s time, June 15.

The Endeavour Foundation’s most recent millionaire was from the western suburbs of Brisbane, who was “scrubbing the house” when she got the call that she’d won a $2.2m home at Little Mountain on the Sunshine Coast.

“I had my daggiest workout gear on, and I had a sweatband on holding the sweat out of my eyes – I was a mess,” she told the Endeavour Foundation Head of Lotteries, Kirsty Moore.

“Our current house is quite old, and we have to do so many renovations to it to make it nice. So, waking up and seeing a fresh coat of paint is amazing. The luxuriousness of it and the finishes are just beautiful – it’s just more than you can imagine in photos. We’re still worrying about the kids touching things because we feel like we’re just borrowing it”.

She said her husband now spent the majority of his me-time in the garden.

“He’s a gardening freak and every weekend we’ve been there he’s probably spent 90 per cent of the time in the garden. The most dangerous thing they did was putting that house within a five-minute drive of Bunnings,” she laughed.
