A contemporary Gold Coast home, promoted by an AFL star and his wife, sold for $1,489,000 on Saturday at a no-reserve auction.
Player-turned-Brisbane Lions assistant coach Jed Adcock and his wife Amber Ward are House for Life ambassadors, raising money for Queensland’s Mater Mothers’ Hospital.
The couple’s two young sons, Hugo and Freddie, fought for their lives at Mater Mothers’ Neonatal Critical Care Unit after they were born prematurely in 2020 and 2021.
In partnership with Plantation Homes and Villawood Properties, Saturday saw a modern two-story home in Helensvale go under the hammer in a no-reserve auction.
The property located at 21 Forest Court contains four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two powder rooms, a terrace, pool and two-car garage.
A sense of luxury is felt throughout the home with the foyer’s grand central staircase, the high ceilings, marble floors, Caesarstone benchtops and large butler’s pantry.
In the lead-up to Saturday, Jed and Amber shared the heartbreaking reason behind their auction campaign.
Son Hugo was born 13 weeks premature in 2020 and spent 89 days in the Neonatal Critical Care Unit fighting for his life.
Due to difficulty breathing, Hugo was intubated. He also required three blood transfusions.
Their youngest son Freddie was also born five weeks premature in December 2021, and required care in the Neonatal Critical Care Unit like his brother.
“Knowing the money from this auction will go towards supporting tiny and vulnerable babies is very meaningful to us,” Ms Ward said in a statement prior to Saturday.
“Jed and I are committed to giving back to the hospital that saved our boys’ lives and want as many people as possible to bid on this stunning Gold Coast home!”
