The top four Burleigh Heads apartments on the market right now

Recently talks and community discussion have begun for the proposed Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 4 extension, which will see a stop included for Burleigh Heads, further earmarking this spot as a prime living location

Burleigh Heads has been the latest hot-spot for developers, with a number of big names bringing luxury and lifestyle to the coast with a range of modern and boutique apartments.

Recently talks and community discussion have begun for the proposed Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 4 extension, which will see a stop included for Burleigh Heads, further earmarking this spot as a prime living location.

While owner-occupiers have been the keenest buyers over the last 12 months, interstate investors have also been keen, given the 8.6 per cent annual growth rate for two-bedroom apartments and 12.5 per cent for three-bedroom apartments.

Urban has had a look at the best apartment projects which are currently selling in Burleigh Heads.

1.Sea

South East Queensland developers, Spyre Group, has recently launched their most boutique project yet.

Having spent around $11 million on 10 Goodwin Terrace last year, the Andrew Malouf-led developer is set to create Glass House, a boutique collection of just three apartments on the near beachfront site. There were initial discussions with the Gold Coast council for a six-level development, but Spyre saw the continued demand for that high-end product.

Designed by bureau^proberts with landscaping from Cusp, 10 Goodwin is set to be crowned by a two level penthouse with its own private rooftop pool.

3. Sandbar

Developer: Morris Property Group

Price:  From $1,590,000

The nearly sold-out Sandbar, by Morris Property Group, is a higher density project in the sought-after suburb.

Only three-bedroom apartments remain in the 163-apartment, 26-level project at 1969-1971, Gold Coast Highway.

The two-bedroom apartments had started at $515,000 before selling out. The three-bedroom plus family room apartments with ocean and Burleigh Headland views are available from $1.59 million.

The Sydney-based Weiya Holdings are transforming the Old Burleigh Theatre, in what will be the first ever adaptive re-use of a building with heritage elements on the Gold Coast.

The Goodwin Terrace development, dubbed DE-LUXE, will see the the 1930s cinema, which closed its doors around 1970s to become the retail and dining Old Burleigh Theatre Arcade, completely transformed.

Weiya are keeping large parts of the building, which is considered a landmark by locals, with the ground level and arcade being retained and restored, and 13 levels of apartments built above.

Conrad Gargett Architects, who specialise in heritage restoration, have been called in to handle the design of the development.

Two-bedroom apartments, which had been priced from $1.42 million, have all already been sold.

From levels three to 10 are two-per-floor pavilions, with 300 sqm of living space which start from $3,700,000 million. The sub-penthouse skyhomes, on levels 11 and 12, are over 400 sqm and have a $6,900,000 million price tag. The two-level, new York style beach houses start from $5,800,000 and the two-level penthouse, which spans levels 12 to 13, takes up 485 sqm and feature it;s own private lift access and wine cellar, is asking a cool $8,900,000.
