A mystery developer has lodged plans with the local Council for a new three-storey retirement village, an 88-bed aged care home and a dedicated medical support facility at Beerwah, 80km north of Brisbane.
The application shows the Pine Camp Road development will also feature 46 independent living units – 39 two-bedroom units and seven three-bedroom units – plus 12 two-bedroom units in six-duplex-style buildings on the 15230 m² site.
The project is the brainchild of YLD Property Investments – which has been run for 21 years by sole director Yvonne Duffy, a former bank teller and real estate administration manager – and G4 Building Group, a local construction and project management specialist that has worked on a range of residential and commercial projects but no seniors’ housing developments.
The architect is Elevation Architecture, a Brisbane firm that has designed a number of facilities for private operator Arcare.
While YLD and G4 appear to be new entrants to the sector, the site itself looks promising – it is located in the centre of town close to the central shopping village and transport.
